Cook in style and wear your love of fine art in our charming William Morris Cray apron!
Tailored in durable heavyweight 100% cotton twill, our full length aprons feature soft cotton ties and an easily adjustable neck strap in colors that compliment the design. Two roomy pockets keep utensils close at hand. One size fits most.
William Morris (1834-1896) was an artist, designer, poet, social activist, and a founder of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Known for intricate floral wallpaper designs, his firm, Morris & Co. was hugely successful, producing hand crafted home décor products including fabrics, tapestries, embroideries and carpets.
Cray is one of seven in a design series named for tributaries of the River Thames. With its strong diagonal bias and fantastical scrolling chrysanthemums and foliage, Cray is Morris’ most expensive pattern, requiring 34 blocks to create the complex print – more than any other in his studio. Our design is inspired by this remarkable work.
